Technical Asset Manager (m/w/d)
Als Technical Asset Manager leiten und verantworten Sie unterschiedliche Aktivitäten, die wesentlich zum erfolgreichen Betrieb des Offshore Windparks Veja Mate beitragen. Dabei steht die ganzheitliche Betrachtung des Windparks über den Lebenszyklus und die damit verbundene Koordination und Optimierung von Projektabläufen und Asset Management Prozessen im Fokus. Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehören sowohl die Steuerung von Vertragspartnern als auch Optimierungsprojekte zur Effizienzsteigerung, Kostenreduktion und Verbesserung der Parkleistung sowie des Zustands der technischen Anlagen des Windparks.
Unterstützung bei der Erarbeitung und Umsetzung des mittel- und langfristigen Instandhaltungsbudgets. Überwachung der übergeordneten Budget- und Zeitpläne
Initiierung und Leitung von technischen Verbesserungs- und Instandhaltungsprojekten über alle Projektphasen hinweg, von der Entwicklung bis zum erfolgreichen Abschluss. Die beinhaltet auch die Organisation und Führung interner und externer Mitglieder des Projektteams
Eigene Verantwortlichkeit für diverse Themen wie z.B. Root-Cause-Analysen, übergeordnetes technisches Risikomanagement, Schnittstelle zu den Behörden und Prüfsachverständigen sowie Abstimmung in Bezug auf Wiederkehrende Prüfungen etc.

How the Technical Asset Manager role fits into Veja Mate
The Technical Asset Manager is a central role within our operations team, bridging the gap between technical performance, commercial objectives, and regulatory compliance. Veja Mate is one of the largest offshore wind farms in the German North Sea, with 67 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 turbines and a total capacity of 402 MW. Keeping such an asset operating at peak performance requires not only excellent technical knowledge but also a strategic mindset that balances cost, risk, and long-term value.
In this position, you will work closely with colleagues in Careers and other departments, including the Technical Operations Manager, to ensure that all maintenance and improvement activities are aligned with the overall business plan. You will have a direct impact on the availability and reliability of the wind farm, which are key drivers of our success.
Because Veja Mate operates in a highly regulated environment, the Technical Asset Manager also acts as a key interface with authorities, certification bodies, and independent experts. This ensures that our operations not only meet but exceed industry standards for safety and environmental protection.
Key responsibilities in detail
While the core duties are outlined above, the day-to-day work of a Technical Asset Manager is diverse and dynamic. You will be responsible for managing contracts with major service providers, including turbine OEMs, balance of plant contractors, and specialized engineering firms. This involves negotiating scope changes, monitoring performance against KPIs, and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met in a cost-effective manner.
Another significant part of the role is leading technical improvement projects. These can range from small modifications to large-scale retrofits, such as upgrading control systems, improving corrosion protection, or implementing condition monitoring solutions. You will be expected to develop project plans, secure budgets, manage risks, and report progress to senior management.
Root cause analysis is a critical function. When unexpected failures occur, you will lead investigations to determine the underlying causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This requires a systematic approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with specialists from various disciplines.
Working environment and offshore requirements
The role is primarily based at our Hamburg office, but occasional travel to the wind farm site and other locations is required. Offshore visits are optional but encouraged, as they provide valuable first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities of operating an offshore wind farm. If you choose to go offshore, you must meet the necessary medical and safety training requirements, including GWO certification and offshore survival training.

What we look for in a candidate
Ideally, you hold a degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field, and have several years of experience in asset management, operations, or maintenance within the energy sector. Experience with offshore wind is a plus, but we also value transferable skills from other industries such as oil and gas, marine, or heavy industry.
Strong project management skills are essential, including the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams. You should be comfortable with data analysis and have a good understanding of reliability engineering principles. Excellent communication skills in both German and English are required, as you will interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
