Dabei stehen die technische Integrität der Offshore-Bauwerke, die Produktionsverfügbarkeit sowie Kostenreduzierungen im Fokus.

Your Role in Technical Asset Management and Operations

As a working student in Technical Asset Management and Operations, you will support the team responsible for ensuring that the Veja Mate offshore wind farm operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The role is designed to give you hands-on experience in the day-to-day management of a large-scale renewable energy asset. You will work alongside experienced engineers, asset managers, and operations specialists who are responsible for monitoring the condition of the wind turbines, foundations, and all associated offshore infrastructure.

Your tasks will vary depending on current project needs, but you can expect to be involved in data analysis, report preparation, and the coordination of maintenance activities. You will learn how technical asset management uses real-time data from the turbines to predict failures, plan inspections, and optimize the performance of the wind farm. This is not a passive observer role: you will be expected to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and take ownership of small projects from day one.

The working student position is ideal for someone who is passionate about renewable energy and wants to understand how a technically complex asset is managed over its entire lifecycle. You will see how decisions made in the office directly affect the availability and profitability of the wind farm, and how the team balances technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.

What You Will Learn

During your time with us, you will develop a broad understanding of offshore wind operations. This includes the fundamentals of turbine technology, the role of the transmission system, and the importance of marine coordination for safe access to the turbines. You will become familiar with the key performance indicators used to measure the success of an offshore wind farm, such as availability, capacity factor, and mean time between failures.

You will also gain insight into the commercial side of asset management. This includes how maintenance budgets are planned, how contracts with service providers are managed, and how warranty claims are processed. You will learn how the operations team works closely with the finance and commercial departments to ensure that every euro spent delivers value for the asset owner.

In addition, you will improve your practical skills in data handling and reporting. The wind farm generates vast amounts of data every day, and part of your role will be to help turn that data into useful information for decision-makers. This could involve creating dashboards, writing summaries, or preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Typical Tasks and Responsibilities

Your day-to-day work will be varied and will depend on the current priorities of the team. Some of the tasks you might be involved in include:

• Analyzing SCADA data to identify underperforming turbines and supporting root cause analysis.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly operations reports for management and investors.
• Supporting the coordination of planned and unplanned maintenance activities with the service provider.
• Reviewing technical documentation, such as inspection reports and maintenance records, and summarizing key findings.
• Helping to maintain the asset management system and ensuring data quality.
• Participating in meetings with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, and taking minutes.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs and increasing availability.

You will be given clear guidance and support, but you will also be expected to work independently and manage your own time effectively. The team will encourage you to ask questions and to seek out learning opportunities beyond your assigned tasks.

How the Team Works

The Technical Asset Management and Operations team is part of the larger Veja Mate organization, which includes colleagues responsible for finance, legal, health and safety, and stakeholder relations. The team works in an open-plan office environment where communication is direct and informal. You will be invited to join regular team meetings, where operational issues are discussed and decisions are made collectively.

Because Veja Mate is a relatively small organization, you will have the chance to interact with senior managers and directors on a regular basis. This flat hierarchy means that your ideas will be heard, and you will have the opportunity to make a real impact. Many of our previous working students have gone on to secure full-time positions within the company or elsewhere in the offshore wind industry.

You do not need to have prior experience in the wind industry, but any exposure to engineering, data analysis, or project management will be an advantage.
